Day Two of Plant Camp

This morning we started our second day of Plant Camp.  The theme of this year is "Life in the Gospel" and we are studying 1 John 4.  After worshiping together in song, Will Galkin taught on having discernment from verses 1-6.  Then we spent some time in our small groups talking about the importance of core truths in our faith and  how we are to be discerning in the world around us.
We were given a list of questions to help us discern messages of false teaching.
1.  What do they say about the deity of Christ?
2. What do they say about the eternality of Christ?
3.  What do they say about the incarnation of Christ?
4.  What do they say about the nature of Christ's atonement?
5.  What do they say about the sinfulness and depravity of man?
6.  What do they say about the necessity of the new birth?
7.  What do they say about repentance and faith for salvation?
Theses questions helped us recognize the importance of knowing God's Word well in order to be discerning.

Morning Session
Mid morning we headed to serve at the Backyard Bible Club that we handed out invitations to yesterday.  As a team we helped in checking in the kids, played games and helped with the craft and discussion time with the kids.  The students enjoyed their time serving.

After lunch, we headed out, into the community, to invite people to Gospel Grace.  This was done by hanging door hangers on doors, which listed all the summer activities and Sunday services.

We then headed back to Gospel Grace, with our dinner, to have a discussion about how to give surveys to people we meet.  We will have the opportunity to do this tomorrow afternoon in the park, Liberty Park, across the street from Gospel Grace.  The students were given opportunity to practice with each other.  Then we had a message from Jon Kopp on our Identity in Humility.  Jon taught out of John 13:1-20.

Our night ended with a huge game of kick ball at Liberty Park with all the other teams that are a part of Plant Camp.

Tomorrow we will hit the streets again informing and inviting people to Church in the Park for tomorrow night.  The students will also get to put into practice all they have learned over the last several month on how to have Gospel conversations, as they talk to people in the park.  Please be in prayer for boldness and those who they will have conversations with.  Thank you for your prayers.
