Final Day of Plant Camp


 It's hard to believe that Plant Camp has come to an end! God has been so good and so faithful this 
week, and it has been our joy and privilege to serve along side Gospel Grace Church for the sake of the Gospel! 
We began our morning with a trip to our favorite coffee shop, Publik. We then headed to the church and enjoyed some yummy doughnuts before heading out to serve.


As a group, we were sent out into Liberty Park to invite children to our Kids Carnival. Once the carnival began, the girls were sent to serve by hanging more door hangers and the guys went with Josh Longoria to do a service project at a church members house.





Plant Camp ended by gathering all the campers together and having one final picnic lunch together.  We were encouraged by Will Galkin and Jon Kopp to take what we have been learning here and apply it back home in our own home towns.






After lunch, we took the team to City Creek Mall to listen to Kelly street preach and to enjoy a little shopping!




 

Victor has been wanting to ride one of these scooters all week...he finally had his chance!
We spent our evening at the Longoria's home sharing a meal, enjoying fellowship and having a time of  sharing about what God has done in us and through us this week.  We each took time sharing how God had specifically challenged our hearts and made us thankful.  


Tomorrow morning we will attend Gospel Grace for their morning service and gospel growth hour, get lunch and then head home. We are thankful for all that God has done this week and look forward to sharing with each of you all that we learned.  We are thankful for each of you that prayed and supported our team on this trip.

Monday - Plant Camp has begun!

Plant Camp has begun!  We started the morning off at Gospel Grace getting to know the four other youth groups that are here in a "get to know you" game.  Jon Kopp shared with us their vision for the Salt Lake City area and the desire to see more Gospel centered churches.  He shared a video that stated there is only 1 Gospel centered church for every 10,000 people, making it the least churched city in America.  We then drove to the center of SLC, Temple Square, for a tour of the Convention Center and the Temple Square grounds.  While at the Convention Center, we got to ask our guide some questions about his beliefs and see the view of the city.  On the tour of Temple Square, we had two American sisters show us the Tabernacle, the Chapel and outside the Temple.  We were really proud of our students for being bold and stepping out of their comfort zones to ask questions that made the sisters contemplate what they believe.  After our tours, we walked to a park and had lunch wi

We made it!!

We arrived Saturday night safe and sound. The Lord was very gracious in giving us an uneventful and quick trip. Our evening included having dinner, checking into the hotel and spending some time with the Longoria's. We are working on getting more pictures up from Sunday. This morning we were able to sleep in before going to Gospel Grace to worship. Because the church has grown so much, Gospel Grace now offers two services with a Gospel growth hour in between. The students' session was taught on obedience in the Christian life and then we all gathered back together for the 2nd service where Lukus Counterman taught on Ephesians 6: 10-13. After church, we headed to lunch and then headed up the hill to Park City for some team time. We toured the 2002 Olympic museum and then enjoyed the great outdoors. Day Four - Equipping and Serving

We started the fourth day of Plant Camp at Gospel Grace continuing our study of 1 John 4:13-16.  The theme being "God Dwells in Us."  One of the main purposes in 1 John is to help believers have a confident assurance of eternal life.  Our small group time was sweet as we focused on the assurance of our salvation and our own person spiritual condition.  After our session, we helped set up for a free car wash, in the afternoon, at Gospel Grace.  The ladies used their artistic talents and made signs, while the guys set up the parking lot. - After lunch, we had another teaching session on Sharing Jesus with the Religious.  We focused on specifically speaking with someone who is Mormon, however we walked away with the tools that can help us share Jesus with someone of any religious belief.  We then headed to Riverton, where Gospel Hope is, and hung door hangers.  Once door hangers were finished we headed back to Gospel Grace for a time of prayer with all the other teams
